I was in a reorganization and revamp of my studio when Karen Valentine, of My Desert Cottage, submitted her invitation to "Where Bloggers Create 2012". I thought it was a great time for me to share my workspace with other bloggers.
This first picture is one of the BEFORE pics, while the reorganizing was in process. I felt disorganized and unable to easily put my hands on my supplies.
I did not move any furniture around, as it more or less has to stay where it is due to the size of the room and the placement of doors and windows.
As you can see....there is chaos all around. Beads are EVERYWHERE! Lots of other non-related items also found their way into my workspace. I knew I had to change things. I am a person that needs balance and organization in order for my creativity to work at its full potential.
The revamped results are wonderful, serene, and I smile when I walk in with an eagerness to start to create! I hope you enjoy my little tour. Feel free to leave a comment or question if you feel so inclined. Enjoy YOUR creative space, too!
This is the new view when you first walk into my studio. I decided to use cork boards to display my jewelry, and love the results. Before the revamp, I had them hanging on curtain rods across the wall. Not too professional looking nor did it feel right, either.

I love my cubes with the canvas baskets as this give me a bunch of cute storage that I can quickly access. Most of my necklaces are on the cork boards, with bracelets and earrings on the jewelry dispalys sitting atop the cube storage units.

The white drafting table is where I do all my art designs. I have all my colored pencils and markers available here. It is located directly next to my work bench table so I can move from one project to another should it be necessary.

Of course, since I spend most of my free time here, I have a TV to keep me company and to watch my favorite shows such as HGTV and the Food channel. Love cooking and any kind of design show. My laptop is on a separate rolling table so that it does not take up valuable space on my workbench.

I keep other supplies in "see through" pastic boxes so I can pick them up and have everything I need in that box to complete a project. Specifically, I have one just for bottlecaps and one for Shrinky-dink projects.

This bookcase houses all my design magazines, books and videos. I love my mannequin that I got on eBay for around $60! It is great for jewelry photography sessions. Currently she is wearing my Rhinestone Waterfall bibb necklace and earrings.
Of course, NO work space would be complete without photos of the grandbabies! Love 'em!
(AND their sweet notes they leave for you!)

This little carousel was found at an antiques store when the Southern Belle Bloggers had their first meeting. I love to re-purpose items to add whimsey and utiltiy at the same time. The bottles originally had fruit corks, but I replaced them with plain corks. I am planning to add some "bling" to them at some point! They are fantastic as holders of my smaller beads or chips.

Speaking of whimsy........I have these wine glass sunglasses on display just in case I should need them......(lol)

The point of re-puposing things for my studio use.....I use this Wilton cake decorating supply carrier to house all my different wires used in jewelry designs. How kewl is that?

Since I spend so much time sitting, I have to use a footstool....of course, it had to have a french toile fabric!
These are some miscellaneous photos that I thought were good enough to include, but maybe not needing any comments....

The last photo above shows three wooden handbags made by my father and mother in the late 60s. Guess the talent runs in the family, huh?
I arrange all my beads by color for a little easier identification when I have a design in mind.
I hope you enjoyed you "tour", and will return again really soon!
